Lars R. Hollis
Lars Hollis has over ten years of financial advisory and strategic consulting experience. As an advisor, Lars has represented clients in situations that have resulted in mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, fairness opinions, restructurings, and private placements. He is responsible for financial modeling, strategic analysis, due diligence, transaction structuring, and deal marketing.
Prior to joining Parkman Whaling, Lars worked for Accenture Strategy Consulting specializing in the energy industry. While at Accenture, Lars worked with clients ranging from private equity backed upstream companies to petrochemical divisions at fully integrated super majors. In addition, Lars served as financial analyst for VMG Health, a transaction advisory firm specializing in financial valuations.
At Parkman Whaling, Lars has helped his clients raise over $1 billion of committed debt and equity capital. These fundraising efforts have come in the form of 1st and 2nd lien credit facilities, preferred equity, and common equity. He has also served in financial analysis positions for certain merchant banking investments controlled by the firm’s principals, including Ultra Tech Frac Services which was successfully sold in 2013.
As result of the 2014 oil downturn, Lars has gained significant experience working for distressed investors and operators. In one instance Lars advised an investor with nearly $100 billion assets under management regarding certain high-yield oil and gas distressed credits. Notable public transactions include the sale of Dune Energy, named the Energy and Services Restructuring of the Year for 2015 by the Global M&A Network and Australian based Linc Energy, a transaction that resulted in a sale price with a twenty-five percent premium to the starting bid.
Lars earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University within its College of Business. Lars achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with a Palm from the Boys Scouts of America. Lars is involved in the Houston Producers Forum and Young Professionals in Finance. In his spare time Lars trains American Quarter horses and competes in National Cutting Horse Association events. Lars grew up in Connecticut and now resides in Houston with his wife who helps manage her family’s ranch operations.
